Vehicles featuring AC Propulsion Technology

Tesla Motors has introduced a new electric sports car designed for high efficiency and high performance.
The Tesla Roadster can accelerate from 0 to 60 in about 4 seconds and go 250 miles on a single charge.
Tesla has announced that the Roadster will be available for sale in select U.S. markets beginning summer 2007.
Tesla Motors is a licensee of AC Propulsion drive system technology.

The Zooop, from the Parisian shops of Courrèges Design, made its début at the 2006 Michelin Challenge Bibendum in Paris.
The eye-catching exterior is pure Courrèges, and the technology is pure AC Propulsion.
Together they create an attention-grabbing EV with a 112mph top speed and a range of over 200 miles.

The all-electric 2006 Wrightspeed X1 debuted, untested, in November of 2005, and promptly
blew away a $440,000, 605 horsepower Porsche Carrera GT on the dragstrip at Infineon Raceway in Sonoma, CA.
Conceived and built by Ian Wright, the X1 uses a high-performance version of the AC Propulsion AC150 mounted midships to propel it to 0-60mph in ~3 seconds, and an 11.5-second 1/4 mile.
The car consumes 1/3 the energy of a conventional hybrid, and can go over 150 highway miles on a single two-hour charge. For more information, please visit www.wrightspeed.com

The Attack is a sporty hybrid-electric built by the West Philadelphia High School Academy for Automotive & Mechanical Engineering in 2005.
With an AC Propulsion motor under the hood, as well as a 1.9L Volkswagen TDI engine in the rear, fueled by biodiesel,
the car achieves a fuel economy of 50mpg, and goes from 0 to 60 mph in under 4 seconds.

The Volvo 3CC is a concept car designed by the Volvo Monitoring and Concept Center in Camarillo, CA.
The 3CC uses 3000 Li-Ion cells to juice the front-mounted AC150 drive system from AC Propulsion.
Designed for efficiency and safety, the 3-seat 3CC achieves 100 km/h (62 mph) from a standstill in approximately ten seconds,
hits a governed top speed of over 135 km/h (85 mph), and has a 180-mile range.
It was first shown at the 2004 Michelin Challenge Bibendum in Shanghai. For more information on the car read this article

The EXE is a concept car created by Paris-based fashion designer Coqueline Courrèges.  Making its début at the 2004 Michelin
Challenge Bibendum in Shanghai, the EXE reaches a top speed of 175 km/h and can go a distance of 450 km before needing to be recharged.
AC Propulsion provided the complete drive system, including the two Li-Ion battery packs and battery management system.

The Venturi Fétish is a sleek two-seater introduced in 2004 by Monaco-based Venturi Automobiles.
The Fétish features the AC150 drive train, and can reach speeds of 170 km/h, with a 0-100 km/h time of 4.5 seconds.
Total battery capacity is 58 kW-h, coming from 100 Li-Ion cells, which help it achieve an autonomy of between 250 and 350 km.

The L3 Enigma is a hybrid-electric sports car built in 2001 by Jim Burns and his team at San Diego State University.
The car can go about 20 miles at highway speeds as a pure electric, using the AC150 drive system.
Then the 1.2L TDI diesel engine kicks in, powered either by diesel or biodiesel, and the car achieves a final fuel economy of 80 mpg. For more information, you can read this article in EV World or take a look at this specifications sheet

The White Lightning by DWRA (Dempsey World Record Associates) set the FIA world land speed record
for an electric car at the Bonneville Salt Flats in 1999. With power from 6000 small NiMH cells,
which feed dual AC150 drive systems, the White Lightning reached a top speed of 254 mph.
That smashed the previous world record for its weight class (1000 kg and up) by more than 30 mph. For more information, please visit these pages on the White Lightning and the White Lightning II
