Who We Are

Founded in 1992, AC Propulsion develops electric vehicle technology and provides products and engineering services to automotive and other clients throughout the world.
In 1994, AC Propulsion unveiled the AC-150, an innovative 200 horsepower integrated drive system for compact to mid-size passenger cars demonstrating that high performance and high efficiency can simultaneously be achieved in electric drive vehicles. This system incorporated ACP's "reductive" integrated charger, providing 18kW charging capability with minimal added components. In 1997, AC Propulsion introduced the original tzero™ sports car at the LA Auto Show, and showcased its capability for 0-60 mph in 4.9 seconds, while reliably achieving a 80-100 mile driving range with lead-acid batteries. In 2003, tzero was upgraded to Lithium battery technology and achieved 0-60 mph in 3.6 seconds and range up to 300 miles and was also the inspiration behind the birth of Tesla. In 2006, AC Propulsion created the eBox, the world's first vehicle-to-grid (V2G) capable electric vehicle. We continue to advance the design and technology of electric drive and recharge systems.
AC Propulsion's patent portfolio covers electric vehicle drivetrain, charging system and battery system technology.
AC Propulsion's headquarters, engineering, test and pilot production facilities are located in San Dimas, California, 30 miles east of Los Angeles. eMotor Advance, our manufacturing plant, located in Beijing PRC, provides volume production capability of our products.

 Technology

Among scientists and engineers, the lower case t denotes time. The symbol t0, pronounced "t-zero" represents the beginning. AC Propulsion's tzero™ technology designates a new era: that in which the electric vehicle is a viable mode of transportation for everyone.
